We believe that parents are called by God to be the primary disciple makers in their homes. God has positioned you uniquely in your child’s life to walk with them and teach the goodness and ways of our God.

Our hope as a church family is to support, resource, and equip you to step into this position. You were made for it!

No matter your story or starting point, you can step into kingdom ownership in your home. We’re here to help.

We do this through a simple structure known as our Family Discipleship Rhythms.

This structure consists of simple, repeatable rhythms your family can engage in weekly that create intentional conversations that promote spiritual growth in your child.

These rhythms are broken down into 2 categories.

  1. Sunday Morning Rhythms.
  2. Mid-week Rhythms.

Let’s start with the Sunday Morning Rhythms.

The Sunday Morning Lesson
Each week, our team creates and provides an age-appropriate lesson about God for your child. They will learn about God, His Word, and Jesus. This lesson is the foundation for the rest of the week.

Due to COVID we are currently meeting online and all City.kids lessons will be provided weekly to parents by our family ministries team. These lessons will be sent to you mid-week and can be watched on Sunday morning or any other time that works best for you!

Church At Home
Each week, we have gatherings of families meeting in-person and online for Church At Home. This is a child-friendly space and is a great opportunity to invite them to participate.

Each Sunday, your child will have instructions to share what they have learned from their weekly lesson. During the call ask them if they can share what they learned.

Simple, right?!

Next, let’s take a look at the Mid-week Rhythms.

God Time Cards
Each month, our team will send your family a packet of resources. Inside that packet are small cards called “God Time Cards”. These cards are small, 2-3 minute devotions from The Bible that tie in with what they are learning on Sundays.

Completing these God Time Cards with your child or having them do them each week will help them learn how to read God’s word and hear from Him.

Weekly Dinner Discussion
The final rhythm is a weekly dinner discussion. This is a simple, structured discussion you can have with your child over dinner that takes around 10-15 minutes.

It includes praying together, asking them about their God Time Cards, and allows you to share what God is showing you! It’s a powerful spiritual conversation that helps tie everything together.

You’re Never Alone
Our family ministries team wants to walk with you as you are implementing these rhythms in your life! You will be connected with a coordinator on our team who can answer any questions you may have and will check-in on you monthly.

We pray that this simple structure will help you begin taking steps towards becoming the primary disciplemaker in your home!
